During the Covid lockdown in 2021 Marie created 25 large colour drawings of the trees in Murramarang National Park directly behind her home called “Acheron Ridge Covid Collection.”
“The Covid restriction became for me an opportunity to concentrate on my surroundings. My subjects were all around me. The bush, the trees were in abundance coming down from Acheron Ridge to my home as if they were saying: “Take me, Draw me, We are your friends”. The magic world became a source of hope and solace. The more I drew the more I was able to see and be part of it. To sit in the early morning in the bush, hearing and smelling nature, observing light and its changes, looking at the spaces between the trees and discovering the new colours, my feeling of nature became a feeling of protection and freedom.”
